mypocketOS looks at the growing market of mobile phones that are becoming more sophisticated to the point where they do so much more than just make calls and send texts. Today’s handsets are becoming mini computers in your pocket, and for that to happen, the technology that drives these – the Operating Systems (OS) – are getting more advanced.
In 2007 Apple shook-up the mobile phone industry with the announcement of the iPhone, a touch-enabled handset that was like no other. This revolutionised the handset market, and although by no means perfect, has set the standard that other handset manufactures have been trying to achieve.
The ‘iPhone killer’ is now the goal, and with the recent launch of Google’s Android, and traditional handset makers like Nokia playing catch-up with its Symbian platform, the mobile market has never been more interesting.
This site will follow the advances in technology as the Mobile OS wars commence…
