Apple iPhone coming to 3UK

The Apple iPhone coming to Three (3UK) in 2010

It would seem that 3UK are looking to expand their mobile handset portfolio and have plans to add the Apple iPhone to its lineup.  In a recent blog post, it has indicated that they are looking to tie-up with the Californian mobile manufacturer.

…we’re asked a lot about our position with regards to the iPhone. We don’t currently have a commercial relationship with Apple but are working to change this during 2010 and add Apple to our portfolio.

Although 3 may have one of the best value-for-money offerings when its comes to mobile broadband and internet usage, their handset line-up has, to be fair, been pants. Things were improved upon last year with the introduction of the very popular HTC Hero which came with Spotify, but the rest of the line-up leaves much to be desired.

It seems odd that a company like 3, who is all about getting connected to the Internet, dont have the handsets that people want to make use of their infrastructure. Hopefully with a big name like the iPhone on the 3 network, it will drive more users to join them.

Personally, I recently unlocked my O2 iPhone and returned to the 3 network late last year, a great combination!
