Spotify now available for iPhone & Android

Apple have approved the Spotify App for iPhone

Music streaming service Spotify has been given the green light by Apple for it’s Spotify iPhone App, which has just been approved for inclusion in the iPhone App Store. The app is also available in the Android Market.

The music streaming company which is currently available in the UK, Sweden, Norway, France and Spain is a growing service that allows you to play music over the internet via a Spotify application either on your PC, Mac, Android handset and now iPhone.

Spotify Premium Account Required

If you are a Spotify Desktop user, you will be aware that there are 3 levels of Spotify account available:

  • Free -- where a small Ad is played every few songs.
  • Day Pass -  Listen Ad free for 24 hours for 99p
  • Premium -- Listen Ad free at a higher bit rate & get exclusive access to pre-releases.

Unfortunately to be able to run Spotify on your iPhone, you will need to have a Spotify Premium account which will cost £9.99 a month.

If you have an Android handset, you will need to go to the Android Market and search for Spotify.
