The second update to the hugely successful Apple iPhone called the iPhone 3GS is due on Friday 19th June. The 3GS – with the ‘S’ standing for speed is the dubbed ‘The fastest, most powerful iPhone yet.’

From the outside the phone looks identical to the iPhone 3G, what really matters are the changes on the inside. With an increase in processor speed, making it 2x faster than the iPhone 3G, now includes a 3 megapixel camera and also includes the ability to record video. Also added is a compass that will help navigation when using Google Maps.
As well as the new hardware updates the new iPhone 3GS will also run the new iPhone OS 3.0 which will bring with it Cut, Copy & Paste as well as MMS (picture messaging).
For those of you who signed up for an 18 month contract last year for an iPhone 3G, will be disappointed to find that you will be unable for upgrade to the iPhone 3GS until your current contract expires (as is the norm with any handset). You can of course pay-off your existing contract (£35 x 7 months = £245).
